International Mission Trips

Internationally, in the past, we have partnered with organizations overseas to build homes, boost local economies, and share the love of Jesus. We intend to continue taking international mission trips moving forward. A portion of the 5k proceeds go to this endeavor!

We believe that Jesus meant what He said in Matthew 28:18-20..."18 Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” It is with this in mind that we intend to partner with the International Mission Board to mobilize our students to reach out into the world and share the love of Jesus via international mission trips!

In the past we have partnered with Won by One to Jamaica to build two homes able to withstand a category four hurricane -- the same strength hurricane that devastated the island in the 80's. Also on this trip we have taken 1500 pounds of donations to intentionally boost the local economy of Harmons, Jamaica.

Great Garment Giveaway!

In 2012, Mark and Jaime Scribner had the opportunity through their church they were serving at to help create a ministry called Garments of Praise that serves the physical needs of people by giving them free NEW items of clothes. In just 3 events, they saw over 2000 people from 92 different cities receive over 25,000 items of clothes. Most importantly they saw over 60 people give their lives to Christ. Not only did they see the lives of those being served changed, but we also saw the lives of those serving change as well!

Giveaway in Overland Park, kS

We intend to have a Great Garment Giveaway to the community of Overland Park in the summer of 2020! This will be brand new clothing for those in need in our area. Often times in the Johnson County area it is assumed that everyone is affluent. This is simply not the case and we desire to love our community with the love of Jesus Christ. The proceeds of our 5k will allow us to partner with Garments of Praise (www.is613.com) to accomplish this mission in Overland Park and beyond!
